Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday morning at the Flatley funeral home for John Maike, who was found dead in bed at the Levine home early Saturday morning, by the Rev. Fr. Melchior. Burial took place in the Catholic cemetery here. Pallbearers being J.J. Flatley, Albert Gillis, Yarwood Matravers, Simon Tracey, Oscar Henne and Louis Fonder.

Mr. Maike was born in Germany on October 15, 1860 and came to this country about 45 years ago. He was married to Mary Krause in Germany. Mrs. Maike died a number of years ago. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. George McKeever of Milwaukee and Mrs. Peter Smith of Chicago and one son, Rudolph of Milwaukee. Mr. Maike was a baker by trade, but for many years was employed in the local paper mill. His very sudden death was attributed to a heart attack, as he had been in apparent good health when he retired Friday evening.
