John L. Loch, of Townsend, died at the Eastview Medical Center in Antigo on Monday, December 27, 1999, at the age of 82.

John was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on August 18, 1917, the son of Frank and Elizabeth (Nazier) Loch. He grew up in Milwaukee, and in 1937, married Marie Deiler in Madison, Wisconsin. As a 'Jack of all trades and master of all', he tried his hand at many different jobs, but what he loved to do was drive truck for TEWS Lime & Cement Company, for whom he worked for over 30 years. John retired at the age of 57, and he and his wife moved up to Townsend.

The Northwoods was just the place for John to enjoy the outdoors. Whether it was hunting or fishing, he loved to be outside. When he couldn't be outside, he loved to keep up the home. Of all the things that he enjoyed, however, his greatest love, was his family.

John is survived by his wife Marie, of Townsend; three daughters, Rose Marie (Bruce) Froemming, of Mequon, WI; Jacqueline (Arthur) Schmidt of Sierra Vista, AZ; Suzanne (Peter) Hirt, of Oconomowoc, WI; eight grand- children, six great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Starr, of Watertown, WI. Further survived by numerous other relatives, and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Lapp; and a brother, Frank.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday, December 28, 1999, at 1 p.m. at Saint John Lutheran Church in Townsend. John's family would appreciate memorials in his name to the Saint John Building Fund. Suminski Funeral Home of Wabeno entrusted with arrangements.
