Services for Rev. James L. Franklin, 84, of Van Buren, Ark., formerly a long-time resident of Maple Plain, were Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at Maple Plain Community Church.

Interment was in Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain.

He ministered for the Lord in Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches for more than 50 years. During this time, he served in Wright, Minn., Marshfield and Oconto, Wis., Maple Plain and Van Buren, Ark.

Rev. Franklin died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Wilson Franklin; sons, James (Lynda) Franklin of Maple Plain and Rev. Thomas (Becky) Franklin of Northfield; daughter, Janean (Robert) Vineyard of Van Buren, Ark.; grandchildren, Todd, Jennifer, Tim, Jim III, Jonathan and Richard and five great-grandchildren
