        Mrs. Johanna Hass Little Suamico 92 Years Old

     PASSED AWAY SUDDENLY

Mrs. Johanna Hass, a resident of Little Suamico for thirty years, passed away at
the home of her daughter, Mrs. August Schwichtenburg, in Little Suamico at five
o'clock last Thursday afternoon, February 6, of old age. Death came suddenly and
unexpectedly as she was well enough to pare potatoes for the family dinner on the
day she died.

She was born in Pommern, Germany November 30, 1820 and was married in
Germany in 1840 to Carl Hass.

In 1883, about five years after her husband died, she came to America with her
two daughters and settle in Little Suamico, where she resided until her death.

Previous to her death, five generations of the family were living, the survivors
being two sons, Albert Hass of Oconto and Gustave Hass of Little Suamico, and
two daughters, Mrs. August Schwichtenburg, of Little Suamico, and Mrs. Albert
Damnitz of Oconto, 29 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and two great
great grandchildren. Among the grandchildren are Mrs. Carl Zipple, Otto and
Reinhold Hass, and Mrs. August Zutter, Sr. Two children of August Zutter, Jr. are
the great great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held from the home of her daughter, where she died, at two
o'clock Monday afternoon, Rev. Geier officiating, with interment in Little Suamico
Cemetery.

Outside friends who were present at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hass, Mrs.
August Hass and two sons, Reinhold and Otto, Mrs. Albert Damnitz and Mrs.
Charles Zipple of Oconto, Mrs. Jorgenson, Max and Emma Schwichtenburg, and
Albert Kamholz of Green Bay, Mrs. Bock, De Pere, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kersten
of Flintville.

(note: Her maiden name was Kammhols. Her parents were Erdmann Kamholz and Elizabeth
Juka. They were from Burzlaff, Germany)
