Joseph John Rovinski, 75, an Allouez resident, died Sunday evening August 1, 1999 at his home with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with congestive heart disease. He was born January 15, 1924 in Brookside, WI to the late William and Sophie (Kozielec) Rovinski. On September 13, 1947 Joseph married the former Evelyn Betley. He was employed by Green Bay Packaging as a corrugated box machine operator for 35 years until his retirement. He enjoyed life most when he was with his family, fishing up north with his sons, and working his flower gardens to be shared with his children. His love for animals showed in the time he spent with his late dog Barkley,and his grand dog, Nike. Joseph will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Evelyn; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Francine Rovinski, Daniel and Renee Rovinski, all of Green Bay, John and Lisa Rovinski, Rockford, IL, David Rovinski and his fiance Sherry Mathey, and son Green Bay; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Francis Kozlowski, and Sandra and Jeffrey Graan, all of Green Bay; nine grandchildren; one great grandchildren and another one on its way in September. One sister, Stella Wixon, Green Bay; two brothers and four sisters-in-law, Edward and Irene Rovinski, Green Bay, Max and Elaine Rovinski, Abrams, Rose Rovinski, Green Bay, and Phylis Rovinski, Racine; one brother-in-law, Ervin Kozlowski, Brookside. He is further survived by three brothers-in-law, Robert (Phylis) Betley, Raymond (Sandy) Betley, Ervin (Lorraine) Betley, his godchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Emily Bartella and Verna Kozlowski; two brothers, Rudy and Ted Rovinski; two brothers-in-law, Perry Wixon and Anton Bartella; one sister-in-law, Jane Betley; one nephew Daryll Betley and one niece, Kathy Betley. Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 3-8 p.m. today, and after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr. until time of Mass. Parish Wake Service 7:30 p.m. today, Mass of Christian burial 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Paul Demuth officiating. Entombment in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
