Joseph James Puckiew, 75, Suring (South Branch) died at the Appleton Medical Center December 7, 2000.

He was born in South Branch to the late Mitchell and Mary Puckiew on June 25, 1925. He was married to Theresa Waupoose; she preceded him in death many years ago. Joe enjoyed fishing, and playing his harmonica. He was also an excellent singer. He was a member of St. Joseph's of the Lakes Catholic Church in South Branch.

Survivors include his sister, Elizabeth Corn of South Branch; many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his brother George, and two sisters Julia and Eliza.

Visitation was held at the Norman Corn Residence, Hwy AA, South Branch beginning on Friday December 8, 2000 at 4 p.m. Prayer vigil was Sunday 5 p.m. Funeral Service was Monday, December 11, 2000 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in South Branch with Father David Barrett officiating. Burial in the Church Cemetery.
