James "Jim" McGuire, 61, Green Bay died Wednesday morning, Oct. 10, 2001 after a short , but hard battle with cancer.

He was born Mar. 12, 1940 in Stiles, Wis., to the late Reginald and Lena (Baenen) McGuire. Jim graduated from Preble High School with the class of 1958. He served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1959 to 1960. On November 26, 1960 he married Gloria LeTourneau at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oconto. Jim was self-employed for 30 years as a Carpet Installer. He later was employed by GCO Carpet Outlet for ten years and later became the Store Manager.

Jim was a member of St. Patrick Parish. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially the time he spent with his family. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Gloria; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Scot McGuire and his fiancé, Mary Look, Kevin and Rose McGuire and Shaun McGuire, all of Green Bay; three grandchildren, Cody and Logan McGuire and Krystal Benning; three brothers and three sisters and their spooks, Bill and Nancy McGuire, Patricia Klicka, Katy Albers, Mary Lou and Bill Simon, Mike McGuire, all of Green Bay; many cousins, nieces, nephew and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Randy; his parents; a brother, Robert "Bob" McGuire; and a sister-in-law Marie McGuire. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday. There will be a Parish Wake Service at 7 p.m. today. Friends may call at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 211 N. Maple from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. with Msgr. Brian Coleman officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
