John "Jack" LUTZ

John "Jack" W. Lutz, 87, 7628 Konitzer Rd., Oconto Falls, died Tuesday evening June 8, 1999 at Community Memorial Hospital following complications from surgery.

He was born July 21, 1911 in Appleton to Fred E. and Margaret (Salchert) Lutz. He graduated from Appleton High School with the class of 1929 and attended Linotype Press School in Illinois. On June 1, 1934 he married Marcella Murphy. Following their marriage the couple lived in Minnesota where Jack was the owner and editor of Ramsey County News. In 1943 the couple moved to Oconto Falls where Jack farmed and was employed by Shellman Publishing for many years. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Jack dearly loved his family, enjoyed his cottage at Kelly Lake and was a steward of the soil right up until the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife, Marcella; one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Karen Lutz of Oconto Falls; two daughters and one son- in-law, Connie and Don Carter of Muskego; Judi Tanner Christ of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; five grand-children Vincent (Sandy) Rudolph, John (Jenifer) Rudolph, Sue (Dennis) Cote, Michelle (Wade) Grenke, Scott (Vicki) Tanner; two sisters, Louise Prasher of Sheboy- gan Falls, and Ricky Casey of Appleton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Larry and Fred Lutz, and his son-in-law, Bob Christ. Visitation was held at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, with prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Friday. There was visitation at Jones Funeral Service after 8:00 a.m. Saturday until the funeral cortege left for the church at 10: 15 a.m. Saturday. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m.. Saturday at the church with Deacon Chuck Daley, parish director, and Msgr. John B. Dewane. Burial in the church cemetery,
