Jack "John" Blaser, 65, Little Suamico, died Tuesday evening, October 2, 2001 surrounded by his loved ones at Highland Healthcare Center, Green Bay, following a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. The son of Irma (Carriveau) and the late Francis Blaser was born August 12, 1936 in the town of Chase and had worked as a semi truck driver for most of his working life. Jack loved to shoot pool. He was an avid hunter and loved boating. He liked the outdoors and had fun 4-wheeling. During the course of his illness, as he reflected back on his life, he would say, "Yes, but I had a good time."

Survivors include his son, Douglas Blaser, Green Bay; three daughters and two sons in law, Shelby Thorngren, Meridian, Idaho; Carol and Perry Flood, Waupaun; Chris and Jeff McGinnis, Boise, Idaho; six grandchildren: Jamie and Dakota Thorngren, Amber and Adam Flood, Kristi and Kevin McGinnis; his mother, Irma Blaser, Chase; one brother, Dean (Donna) Blaser, Suamico: one sister, Joyce (Donald) Hendzel, Seymour, nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Francis in 1977, and a special nephew, Randy Hendzel.

Friends may call at St. Joseph Church, Chase after 10 a.m. Friday. Memorial Mass 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Fr. Gerald Prusakowski, O.F.M. officiating. Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski, assisting the family with arrangements.
