James H, Steffeck, 47, Lena, died Saturday, June 19, 1999 at Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette.
He was born to Victor, Sr. and Suzanne (Pecard) Steffeck February 5, 1952. Jim graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1970 and was manager for the sports teams while attending High School. He then graduated from NWTC of Green Bay with a degree in diesel mechanics in 1971. Jim worked for W.A. Rusch of Stiles for 20 years. He was proud to be a state champion in wrist wrestling, enjoyed Canadian fishing trips, hunting bear, raccoon and deer, had great pride in his dogs, and enjoyed working in the fields.
Survivors include: his mother, Suzanne of Lena; brothers, Richard (Peg) of Mayville, Victor, Jr. of Lena,, Robert (Selina) Of Chicago; sisters, Patricia (Gene) Sager of Lena; Cherie (Gary) Jenko of Suring; Joan (Marc) Denis of Lena; aunts, Ginger Cowan, Wilma Pecard, Theresa Steffeck, and Cecelia Geary; nieces and nephews, Mike (Nicki), Dan, Beth, Alex and Adam Steffeck, Jared Jenko, Andrew and Sarah Denis, and great-niece Samantha Steffeck.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor, Sr. and brother, Thomas, and maternal grandparents, James and Sarah Pecard and paternal grandparents, Frank and Katherine Steffeck.
Visitation was held at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home in Lena Sunday, June 20, from 4:00-9-00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Vigil Service was held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Church, Spruce location, with Father Harold Beerntsen officiating. Interment at Pine Hill Cemetery, Spruce.
