James G. Young, Sr., passes away last Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Simon Schuh, in Freedom, Outagamie county, the cause of his death being old age.

Deceased was born in Tipperary county, Ireland, November 19, 1829, and came to Oconto forty-five years ago, residing here since. He went to Freedom about seven months ago for an extended visit with his daughter. He was taken sick about three weeks ago and gradually grew worse until death claimed him.

Deceased leaves to mourn his loss six sons, John J. of Green Bay, Edward, James Jr., and Joseph of Oconto, G. I. of Lakewood and Samuel of Green Bay and two daughters, Mrs. Simon Schuh of Freedom and Mrs. Len Meyers of Channing, Mich. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren.

His remains arrived here Monday afternoon and the funeral was held Tuesday morning at nine o'clock from St. Joseph's church, Rev. Fr. Selbach officiating, with internment in Catholic cemetery. His remains were laid beside those of his wife who died twelve years ago in the city.

Mr. Young was a highly respected citizen and was a great favorite with the children. He will be greatly missed.

The family have the sympathy of their many family and friends.
