John "Jack" "Pea Soup" E. BOURASSA

Mr. John "Jack" "Pea Soup" E. Bourassa, 72, 341 Charles Street, Oconto, died early Sunday morning, January 30, 2000 at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center, Oconto.

Jack was born December 17, 1927 at Oconto, the son of the late Ernest and Ellen (Dagen) Bourassa. He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. On June 9, 1951, Jack was united in marriage to the former Frances Brazeau at St. Peter Catholic Church, Oconto. He was employed by Kist Bottling, Bourassa Insurance, and was a mail carrier for the Oconto Post Office until retirement in January of 1989. Jack was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Oconto and the Jones- Modrow-Young American Legion Post, Oconto.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Frances; by his son, James and wife Linda, Pine River; by his daughters and their spouses, Cathy and Bruce Zima, Anita and Ron Pecha, and Jeanne and Jesse Schmit, all of Oconto; Patricia and Denise Roznowski, DePere; six sisters, Delores Bourassa and Sally White, Manitowoc; Kathryn 'Katy' (Harry) Froelich, LaVonne Brazeau, and Jane (Gary) Belongia, Oconto; Mary (Edward) Slempkes, Lena; his grandchildren, whom he lived for, and were his pride and joy, Sara and Amy Bourassa, Bradley Zima, Ryan and Ashley Pecha, Jaimee Schmit and fiancee Bob Telford, Jill and Jackie Schmit, Alex and Emily Roznowski; a sister-in-law, Bernadette Netzer, Oshkosh; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Eugene, and two brothers-in-law, Joseph Brazeau and Donald Netzer.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Peter Site, Oconto from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2000. Mass of Resurrection at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Fr. Philip Hoffmann officiating. Interment at Oconto Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established for Parkinson's research.

The family would like to ex- press their thanks to the Oconto Memorial Hospital and Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center, for the kindness offered to Jack, and the family. Arrangements are being handled by Rhodes-Charapata Funeral. Home, Oconto.
