Mr. Turner was born June 1, 1917 at Rutherford County, Tennessee, the son of the late Arthur and Lilly (Jones) Turner: He served his country in the Army during World War II, James was employed as a prison guard for many years at a State of Tennessee Penitentiary.
On November 4, 1977, James was united in marriage to the former Mary Vickers in Robertson County, Tennessee. She preceded him in death in 1993. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Billy Joe Jr. (Ann) McCutchen, Oconto; grandchildren, as well as numerous family in Tennessee.
Services and interment were held at Hermitage Memorial Gardens in Hermitage Tennessee.
