Joe Bukowski, 76, Oconto Falls, died Saturday afternoon, March 31, 2001 at Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center in Oconto, following a one year courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 7, 1924 in Marinette to Joseph and Anna (Supok) Bukowski. On Oct. 20, 1945 he married LaVerne Loberger at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. Following their marriage, they purchased the Wilton Johnson Farm in the Town of Oconto Falls and together they have farmed there ever since. Joe was involved with farming his whole life right up until the time of his illness. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Survivors are his wife, LaVerne; their five children, JoAnn (Al) Williquette, Stiles; Joe (Suzi) Bukowski, Oconto Falls; Ken (Bonnie) Bukowski, Gillett; Mary Bukowski and Tom Bukowski, both of Oconto Falls; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Andrew and John Bukowski, both of Lena; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Frank and three sisters, Gen, Marion and Bernice.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, prayer service 7 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Oconto Falls after 10 a.m. until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Harold Beerntsen officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
