John Brempell, 50, Oconto, died suddenly Friday morning, September 7, 2001 at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center, Sevierville, Tennessee.

John was born December 30, 1950 in Milwaukee to Margaret and Bernard (Fabian) Brempell. He married the former Darlene Jarvey on January 15, 1983 in Green Bay. During his working life, he worked as a fish salesman and owned and operated the Oconto Furniture Mart and Furniture Saver and Waterbeds in Marinette and Stephenson. He then worked as an over the road truck driver, until illness forced retirement. He enjoyed his grandchildren, rummage sales, auctions, Tennessee, and was a great fan of Elvis.

Surviving are his wife Darlene; children, Tammy Brempell and fiance, Randy Fifarek, Crivitz, Richard (Theresa) Brempell, Peshtigo, Randy (Missy) Brempell, Oconto, Gary Borkovec and special friend, Steph Coshenet, Oconto, and Roger Borkovec, Oconto; six grandchildren, Timmy, Gina, D.J. Dustin, Briana, and Randi; brothers and sisters, Mary Ann Anderson, Vacaville, California, Sue Stout, Green Bay, Pauline (Joe) Schweiner, Gillett, Peggy Johnson, Green Bay, David (Wanda) Brempell, Green Bay, Ken (Catrina) Brempell, Green Bay and Sheila Brempell, Green Bay; his mother-in-law, Mary Alice Jarvey, Oconto; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Sandra Jarvey, Oconto, Roger and Ruth Jarvey, Suring, Richard and Judy Jarvey, Arkansas, Marvin and Linda Jarvey, Oconto and Rita and Bruce Noack, Pensaukee; three godchildren, Tonia Schulte, Michelle Brempell, and Gail Schweiner.

John was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bernnie, his father-in-law, John Jarvey, and a granddaughter, Randi Jo Brempell.

The family received relatives and friends at First American Lutheran Church, 511 Madison Street, Oconto from 4 until 8 PM Monday, September 10, 2001. Funeral 8 PM Monday at the Church. The Rev. Dean Allen officiated. Interment at Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
