Rites Wednesday for John Breed

Funeral services were held at the John Crooks funeral home yesterday afternoon for John Breed, 83, long time Pensaukee resident, who died suddenly Monday afternoon at the the Newbury nursing-home in Oconto. He had been in apparent good health. Death was attributed to be a heart attack.

The deceased was born in Martinsburg, Holland, Nov. 9, 1879 and came to the United States in 1903, settling in Pensaukee, where he was engaged in commercial fishing. He married Lina Rinka, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Rinka of Pensaukee July 20, 1910. She preceded him in death in 1943.

For the past year and a half, he had made his residence at the nursing home.

Surviving him are one daughter, Mrs. Adeline, Mrs. L. P. Mooradian, Green Bay; one son, Roland, Green Bay; one brother Albert, New Lenox, Ill.; one sister, Jantje Breed in Holland; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Friends called at the funeral home from Tuesday afternoon until time of services, at which the Reverend Raymond Steger, Methodist paster officiated. Burial was in Brookside cemetery. Pallbearers were Albert Hansen, Fred Pope, Wilbur Drolette, Charles Doren, Edgar DeMaiffe and John Carroll.
