Mr. James A. McFadden, Sr., 76, Green Bay, formerly of Oconto died Monday morning, April 12, 1999 @t St. -Mary's Hospital Medical Center, Green Bay.

Jim was born September 16, 1922 at Oconto, the son of the late Arthur "Brownie' and Violet (Baldwin) McFadden. On December 15, 1946, he was united in marriage to the former Edith "Dee" Clark. For much of his life, Jim was an Industrial Painter. He also worked at the Green Bay Reformatory as a painting instructor. The couple owned and operated the Blue Moon Tavern at Oconto until moving to Green Bay. Jim was Past President and held various offices at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #401 at Green Bay.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Dee; two sons, James, Jr. (Karen), County Line and Gary (Chris), Porterfield; four daughters, Judy (David) Wendt, Hector, MN; Patti (Rory) Knippel, Sobieski; Gloria Jean (Autrey) McPeak and Sharon Payne, Pullman, MI; four brothers, Stanley (Marge) and Robert, Sr. (Donna), Oconto; David, Panarama City, CA, and John (Yvonne), Green Bay; five sisters, Wilhelmina Malloy, Walkill, NY, Florence Hayes, Eleanore (Terrence) Bendt, and Darlene (George) Skarban, Oconto; Estella (Regis) Gentz, Milwaukee; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by three sons, Timothy, Russell, and .Wayne, by a brother William, and a great-granddaughter Elizabeth Martin.

The family received relatives and friends at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, 121 Chicago Street, Oconto Wednesday, April 14, 1999 and Thursday April 15, 1999 at Oconto United Methodist Church. Service of Christian Burial was Thursday at the Church. The Rev. Frederik W. Schulz officiated. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Raymond B. Ackerman, Jr. Funeral Director (920) 834-2133.
