John A. Eichinger

John A. Eichinger, 72, of Lakewood, WI formerly of Mountain, WI and the Fox Valley Area died unexpectedly May 12, 2001 at his residence.

John was born on June 4, 1928 in Appleton, WI to Ignatius and Mary (Thurner) Eichinger. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1946 and was honorably discharged in 1949. On April 11, 1953 he married Mary Stewart. Most of his life he was self employed, first as a milk truck driver and later as a builder/contractor. In 1986 the couple moved to Mountain where they owned Frankie and Johnny's Bar and Grill until 1995 when he retired and moved to Lakewood. He enjoyed spending time with his dog "Tiny" and with his grandchildren. He loved to watch stock car races, especially when his grandson raced "Motorcross".

He is survived by his wife Mary; his three children, John S. Eichinger, Lakewood, Kathy L. Sultze, Kaukauna, Sue A. Eichinger, Lakewood; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Rosemary (Glenn) Huss, Freedom, Richard Eichinger and Henry Eichinger, Combined Locks, Kathleen (Marvin) Wyman, Appleton, Dorothy (Jim) McCormick, Darboy, Barbara (Duane) VandenBroek and James "Frank" (Joyce) Eichinger all of Combined Locks; four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Carrie (Gilbert) Jeske and Gert (Don) Dobbe all of Lakewood; Henry (Maggie) Stewart, Corryton, TN and Charles Stewart of Tigerton, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Roger and David. Visitation was at the Suminski Funeral Home, Wabeno on Tuesday, May 15 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Father Stanley Browne officiating. Interment in Lakewood Cemetery.
