At the age of 84 death claimed Isaac Belongia at 8 o'clock Saturday evening, March 30, at the home of his son, Duffy, 224 Michigan Avenue, death being due to diseases incident to old age. He had been ailing for one year.

A solemn high mass was held at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning at St. Peter's Catholic church with the Rev. Fr. J. J. Loose officiating, assisted by the Rev. Fr. L. C. Becker and Rev. Fetko, that later of Stiles. Burial was in the Oconto Catholic cemetery.

Six grandsons, Leonard, Loyal, Isaac, and Wm. Belongia, Isaac Cote and Lawrence Degeneffe carried the casket.

Isaac Belongia was born August 17, 1850 at St. Ursulesan, Canada. At the age of three years he came to Oconto County with his parents, settling on a farm in the town of Oconto, where he lived for a number of years, then coming to Oconto. Mr. Belongia was employed by the Holt Lumber Company for many years. He retired about 10 years ago.

Mrs. Belongia, nee Alice Leneau, preceded her husband in death about 22 years ago.

The survivors are seven children, Mrs. Victor Degeneffe and George, both of Oconto; Sam of the town of Oconto; Mrs. Ed. Cota, town of Little River; Mrs. Reinhold Ludwig, of Kenosha, Isaac Belongia of Kaukauna and Duffy, with whom he made his home, of Oconto. Forty-three grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren also survive.
