Succumbs Friday

Funeral services were held Tues day afternoon at the Monroe Metho dist church for Mrs. Ida McLean, who passed away at her home on Blakely street Friday evening, after a brief illness. The Reverend Hills Collins, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Lat ter Day Saints, of Everett, officiated.

Mrs. McLean was born in Glades boro, Virginia, July 7, 1882, and came to Monroe in the spring of 1911. She acquired a wide circle of friends dur ing her lifetime here, and the abund ance of beautiful floral offerings at her funeral was a tribute to the es teem in which she was held by all who knew her. Many out of town friends a number of whom were former Mon roe residents, attended the services.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, of Everett, and the Rebekah Lodge of Monroe.

Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Smith, of Monroe, and Mrs. Beulah Brashler and Gladys Cannon, of Everett; three sons, Ar nold Boyd, of Sedro Wooley, Tony Boyd, of Carnation, and Lewis Boyd, of Riverside, California; two sisters, Mrs. Rhoda Cox, of Meadowbridge, West Virginia, and Miss Lucy Ayers, of Rising Sun, Maryland; four broth ers, Millard Ayers, of Glenarm, Mary land, and Sanford, William, and Floyd Ayers, of Virginia, and six grand children.

"O My Father" and "Abide With Me" were sung at the services by Mrs. Lee Ibsen, of Everett. Mrs. Hills Col lins was the pianist. Pallbearers were Gordon Brashler, grandson of the de ceased, and Henry Hudson, of Ever ett; Ted Berrett, Seattle, and Charles Russell, Darwin Peterson, and Frank Peterson, of Arlington.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Purdy & Kerr. Inter ment was in the Monroe Memorial Park.

Ida D. McLean, 64, North Blakely Street, Monroe, died at her home Friday evening after a brief illness. She was born in Gladesboro, Va., July 7, 1882, and had resided at Monroe for 35 years. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge of Monroe and of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints of Everett. Mrs. McLean is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Beulah Brashler of Everett and Mrs. Dorothy Smith and Mrs. Gladys Cannon of Monroe; Three sons, Arnold Boyd of Sedra-Wooley, Tony Boyd of Carnation and Lewis Boyd of Riverside, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Rhoda Cox of Meadowbridge, W. Va., and Miss Lucy Ayers of Rising Sun, Md.; four sons,* Millard Ayers of Glenarm, Md., and Sanford, William and Floyd Ayers of Virginia, and six grandchildren.
