A memorial service was held January 20, 2000 for Irma E. Cooper of Cottage Grove, who died January 17 of cancer. She was 75. Cooper was born July 24, 1924, in Abrams, WI, to Carl and Emma Duwell. She married Arthur Cooper in Cottage Grove on November 28, 1951. She moved to Cottage Grove from Abrams in 1948. Cooper was a homemaker and worked at Agripac in Eugene.

Her interests included gardening, reading and collecting humming birds. She had belonged to Cottage Grove Women of the Moose since 1949, and was a member of the organization's College of Regents.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Karla Pape of Springfield and Karen Johnson of Monroe, WA; a stepdaughter, Eileen Stevenson of Folsom, CA; a stepson Wayne Cooper of Orange, CA; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

The memorial service was held at the Cottage Grove Moose lodge. Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove was in charge of arrangements.
