She was born to the late George and Amelia (Olsen) Belongia August 11, 1905 in Oconto. Ida graduated from St. Peter's School and went on to graduate front Oconto High ,School. She was a life long member of St. Peter's Catholic Church,Oconto. Ida was employed at Fulton Electric Company in Oconto for many years. During World War II she worked for Raymor Electric Company in Milwaukee where she met Oren Fusselman whom she married August 2, 1947. They returned to Oconto and Ida was a employed in the office of The Bond Pickle Company for 25 years. After retiring Ida worked at Damkoehler Chemical Company for five years. She was preceded in death by her husband Oren in 1981. Ida served on the St. Peter's Church council for many years and was instrumental in placing St. Peter's Church on the National Registry of Historical Places. She was also a member of St. Anne's Society.
Surviving are three sisters, Mabel McTavish, Oconto; Agnes Nerenhausen, Oconto Josephine Herald, Oconto; and many nieces and nephews. Ida was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, Leonard, Eugene, and Joseph Belongia; six sisters, Ellen Tapa, Minnie McDougal, Alice Davis, Mildred LeComte, Mary Killinger, and Marguerite Murphy.
Friends called at the RhodesCharapata Funeral Home, Oconto, Monday, July 31, 2000. The Funeral Mass was held at 10:3(1 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Parish (St. Joseph's site), Oconto. Interment at Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
