Hattie Winkler Rush

GILLETT- Hattie Rush, age 91, died Tuesday morning, February 29, 2000 at Evergreen Health Care Center, Shawano.

She was born June 30, 1907, in Gillett to the late August and Martha (Pardon) Winkler.

She attended Apple Orchard School. On August 18,1945, Hattie married Elmer A. Rush in Gillett. The couple resided in the Milwaukee area for several years before retiring back to Gillett. Mr. Rush preceded her in death October 24, 1977. She was employed by Schusters/Gimbels, Milwaukee and enjoyed baby-sitting for several neighborhood children throughout the years.

Hattie is survived by: her foster daughter: Mrs. Wayne (Sharon) Essmann, Marshall; one brother and sister-in-law: Paul and Edith Winkler, Cecil; one sister: Mrs. Adele Gottleib, Milwaukee; three grandchildren: David Timpel; Dan (Kim) Timpel; and Karen (Ed) Lemay; two great-grandaughters; Tiffany Timpel and Danielle Lemay. Hattie is further survived by: one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Raymond (Salina) Rush, Algoma; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded by: two brothers: Edward Winkler and Frank (Elsie) Winkler and three sisters: Anna Moser, Alma Bartz and Selma Kickland.

The funeral service was held Thurs., March 2 at her church with the Rev. Dennis N. Nelson officiating. Interment in Wanderers Rest Cemetery, Gillett.

Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett, assisted the family with arrangements.

A memorial fund has been established for St. John Lutheran Church.
