Harold W. Rekitzke, 76, Mountain, died at the Appleton Medical Center on February 2, 2001 following a long illness.

He was born in Clintonville January 13, 1925 to the late Rudolph and Clara Rindt Rekitzke. Harold served in the Navy during WWII. He married Pearl Stiles on August 31, 1944 in New London. The family living in Clintonville where Harold managed the Clintonville Merchantile for 23 years, then he drove a freight truck for 20 years being employed by Foreway Express. Harold served with the Clintonville Fire Department and Rescue Squad for 23 years. Following retirement in 1987 Harold moved to Mountain. H e was an avid ourdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. A member of the Mountain V.F.W. and the Cllintonville American Legion Post. Harold was a member of Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain.

Survivors include his wife Pearl; his daughter and her family, Cheri Wayne Schick of Green Bay; his son and his family, Mike Cathy Rekitzke of Green Bay; a brother, Milton Rekitzke of Chicago heights; three grandchildren Shane Ann Schick, Shannon Schick, and Alex Schaefer all of Green Bay. Preceded in death by his two brothers, Eugene and Raymond, also a sister, Irene.

Visitation was held at Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain on Tuesday, February 6, beginning at 9 a.m. Funeral services were 11 a.m. with Pastor Paul Scheunemann officiating. Burial in Mountain Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home, Suring, in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established at Tabor Lutheran Church.
