Crooks, Helen E.
Helen E. Crooks, 87, formerly of Oconto and Green Bay passed away June 5, at
Metro Health Hospital in Wyomie, Mich. Helen was born March 3, 1925, in
Oconto, to the late Arthur and Lena (Van Hulle) Windey. Helen married
William Crooks and the couple resided in Oconto until retirement and moving
to Green Bay. Her husband preceded in death in 1995. Helen spent the last
three years with family in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Surviving are three daughters, Mary (Terry) Way, Fond du Lac, Wis.; Kathi
Peterson, Florida; and Carol (Rick) Brazeau, Grand Rapids, Mich.; one
sister, Marian Tappa, Waupaca, Wis.; granddaughters, Jill (Ron) Schultz,
Jodi (Scott) Shoemake and Cindi Way;one grandson, Chad (Maureen) Way;
great-grandchildren, Jake and Ryan Schultz, Sean, Emma, Conor Way and Anzlee
and Bryce Shoemake. Preceded in death by parents; three brothers, Louis, Ray
and Bob Windey; four sisters, Mrs. Albert Stoomber, Mrs. Anthony Routheau,
Margaret Doyle and Florence Fredrickson; an infant daughter, Janet Crooks.
Friends called at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Oconto, Friday, June
8, at 10 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Rev. Joel
