Hazel was born August 23, 1901 at Fond du Lac to the late Hardy and Ada (St. Mary) Wright. She married Lester C. Campbell on July 23, 1921 at Waukegan, IL. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1968. Hazel worked at the Hat Shop (the old railroad car) in Oconto, and also worked at Doering-Bake-Fourteen Karat Shop Jewelry store in Oconto for 20 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary. Hazel loved playing bridge and did so often for 70 years.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert C. and Beverly (Caldwell) Campbell, Oconto; three grandchildren, Robb (Jody) Campbell, Deerfield, IL; Curt (Amy Jo) Campbell, Oconto; Amy (Michael) Loehlein, Oconto; seven great-grandchildren. Hazel was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Elmer, and a sister, Marie Bellmer.
Friends called at the First Presbyterian Church, Oconto, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday. Funeral service was 11:30 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Gene Crooks officiating. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery. The Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, assisted the family.
