Helen E. Durocher, 81, of 115 Maple Lane, Coleman died Thursday, January 7, 1999 at Rennes Health Center-West, Peshtigo.
The daughter of the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Zeske) Swiatnicki was born May 26, 1917 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was married to Alphonse Durocher on September 15, 1934. The couple owned and operated Ernie's Lunch Restaurant in Coleman for three years. Helen was manager of the Coleman Ben Franklin Store where she worked for 33 years and then was employed for Stengel Pharmacy in Coleman until retirement in 1988. She was a member of the Coleman Businessmen's Assoc. and was the Grand Marshal for the Coleman Area Harvest Festival Parade. Helen was a member of Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church in Coleman where she served as trustee. Her husband preceded her in death on November 12, 1968.
Surviving are two sons, Roger (Betty) Durocher of Green Bay and Jerry (Mary Lee) Durocher of Peshtigo; four daughters, Fay (Don) Smith and Ray (Peter) Lamensky both of Appleton; Rita (Tom) Berg of New London and Judy (Robert) Henning of Menasha; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Edwin (Marcella) Swiatnicki and Val (Lou) Swiatnicki both of Peshtigo; and Richard (Rita) Swiatnicki of Athelstane, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alphonse and her parents.
Friends called at Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman from 9 a.m. Monday January 11, 1999 until time of services. Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. John Hephner officiating. Interment will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Coleman. Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman assisted the family with arrangements.
