Hazel J. Lawler, 98, Lena, died Saturday, March 9, 2002. She was born to the late Theodore and Josephine (Gomand) Renier August 29, 1903 in Champion. On May 6, 1924 she married Robert C. Lawler at the former St, Joseph Catholic Church, Oconto. The couple farmed in Couillardville until they moved to the Town of Lena in April of 1937. Robert preceded her in death July 29, 1957. Hazel was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, John "Jack" and Christine Lawler, two daughters Claudine Conrad and Bev Lawler, all of Lena; five grandchildren Kathy and Jon Simonar, New Franken, Robert and Laurie Conrad. John Jr. and Roxanne Lawler, all of Green Day, Tina Marie Conrad and special friend Bryan Walker of Atlanta, GA, and Vicki Lawler and special friend Dave Patterson, Lena; and two great-grandchildren, John Lawler III and Kristi Lawler of Green Bay.

She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband Robert, and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Richard Conrad, one sister, Josephine, and four brothers Justin, Louis, Joseph, and Michael.

Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena, Tuesday, March 12 from 4-8 p.m. There will be a wake service at 7 p.m.

Visitation will continue at the funeral home Wednesday from 9-10:30 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Lena at 11 a.m. with Father Peter Taylor officiating. Interment at Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
