Harry Otto, 97, Suring, died at Sharpe Care in Oconto Falls on Monday evening, March 12, 2001.

He was born in the Town of How (Oconto County) on May 27, 1903 to the late Gustave and Emma (Matz) Otto. Harry served his country in the U.S. Army where he was a cook and baker. He married Leona Hanson on July 17, 1931. The couple lived and farmed in the Town of How for many years. In 1968 they retired and moved to Gillett. Leona preceded in death on August 13, 1978. Harry moved back to Suring in 1993, he enjoyed his yearly deer hunting. He was a member of Tabor Methodist Church in Gillett.

Survivors include his three daughters and their families: Gloria Janskovitch of Hamilton, MT, Shirley Shore, and Marilyn (Ralph) Gadbois all of Green Bay; his two sons and their families: LeRoy (Sandra) Otto, Jeffrey (Charmaine) Otto all of Suring; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his wife; his granddaughter, Lisa Spencer; two sons-in-law, J.D. Shore and Jack Janskovitch; four brothers John, Charles, Grover and Adolph; three sisters Emma, Alma and Mildred; one nephew, Adolph Otto, Jr.; and one niece, Rosemary Otto.

Visitation was held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Saturday, March 17, from 12 noon until funeral services 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Pastor Skip Robertson officiating. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
