Young was born January 6, 1902, in Oconto. He married the former Carmen Harwick Sept. 4, 1925. The couple lived in Milwaukee until 1930, where he worked for Tarmax Construction. They then moved to the Oconto area, where he worked for the former Oconto Brewing Co. for 20 years. He then worked for the City of Oconto until his retirement in 1966. His wife died Dec. 21, 1964. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
He is survived by four daughters, Betty Coshenet of Oconto, Patricia Tappa of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Rose Rogers of Nekoosa and Joyce Eparvier of Hot Springs, Ark.; five sons, Jerry, Wayne, Robert and Thomas, all of Oconto, and James of Neenah; two sisters, Irene Baxter of Florida and Gladys Gonion of Menasha; 36 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, Arthur, Leonard, and Francis; two sisters, Delia and Helen, and a grandson died previously.
Friends called at Rhodes-Chara-pata Funeral Home, Oconto, Friday. A parish wake was also held.
