Harold "Syke" M. Jacquart
Harold M. Jacquart, 89, of Oconto, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Bayshore Pines, Oconto. Harold was born August 5, 1920 in Couillardville to the late Martin and Eleanor (Hanna) Jacquart. He married Lorraine Aland on April 27, 1946. She preceded him in death on December 8, 1992. Harold worked for John Olson on the Cook Farm from 1939 to 1941. He then drove milk truck (hauling milk cans) first to the Couillardville Cheese Factory for 4 years and then to Fairmont in Green Bay for 4 years. In 1948 Harold and Lorraine purchased the old Cook Farm and farmed until 1985, but continued to live on the farm. Harold was a member of the First American Lutheran Church, Oconto, where he served on the church council, many committees, was past head usher and received Man of the year award in 1982. He was named Blue Devil Fan of the year in 2001. He was a member of the Couillardville Community Club and was in charge of getting Santa Clause for the Christmas party. Harold is survived by a daughter Judy (Mike) Salacinski, Oconto; a son Richard (Sue) Jacquart, Oconto; brother James Jacquart, Green Bay; sister Betty (Bill) Cowans, Green Bay; five grandchildren Scott Jacquart, Heidi (Steve) Stock; Joshua (Ellen) Salacinski, Molly Salacinski, Jill Salacinski, three great grandchildren Jerid, Craig and Steven Stock. He is also survived by may nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by a sister Evelyn (Merrill) Vandervest and two sisters-in-law Teresa Jacquart and Lucille (Charles) Kehl. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 9 PM Thursday, November 12, 2009. Visitation will continue on Friday, November 13 from 10 to 11 AM at the First American Lutheran Church, Oconto. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Friday at the church with the Rev. Mary Zupansic officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
