He was born April 17, 1846 in Germany and came to America in 1873 settling in Kaukauna.
He came to Brookside from Green Leaf 20 years ago and 52 years ago married Lena Rosin at Wrightstown.
Surviving him are his widow and the following children; Mrs. Jose. Van Derhyden of Wabeno, Wis.; Mrs. Herb. Rymer, Shawano; Mrs. Aug. Zanzig, Appleton; Mrs. Walter Wiedenhaft, Lena and Mrs. Bennett Scholtz, Brookside. There are also thirty-four grand-children and on great grand-child.
The funeral was held Monday from the Brookside Lutheran Church, Rev. P. C. Eggert officiating.
