75 Year Old Matron Dies
OCONTO-- Mrs. Harriet E. Caldwell, 75, lifetime resident of Oconto County, died Sunday night at home of her daughter, Mrs. Oliver McDowell, 503 Superior Ave.
She was born March 24, 1880, in Leightown in Town of Oconto. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors, Rebekah Lodge, Women's association of Presbyterian church and the Oconto Woman's club.
The former Harriet Leigh was a school teacher before her marriage to John Caldwell August 17, 1904, at Leightown. Her husband died 17 years ago.
Besides Mrs. McDowell, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. E. C. Theiss of Milwaukee; a son, Leigh of Oconto, Mrs. George Cleveland of Oconto Falls, Mrs. P. B. Kermott of Milwaukee; two brothers, Chest and Arthur Leigh of Oconto, 10 grandchildren and on great grandchild. a son Ralph, died a year ago.
Final rites will e held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Presbyterian church. The Rev. G. I. Krein will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body is at MacQueen funeral home where friends may call from 7 p.m. Tuesday until 11 a.m. Wednesday when the body will be taken to the church.
