Henry J. Weier, 89, of 9297 County Rd. Z, Pound died Saturday, October 28, 2000 at Community Memorial Hospital, Oconto Falls.

The son of the late John and Julia (Klein) Weier was born May 8,1917 in the town of Brazeau. He served in the Army Air Corps for four years and was discharged as a Staff Sergeant. On October 18, 1941 Henry married the former May Hoffman. He operated a farm in the town of Brazeau until retirement. He helped organize the Brazeau Blackhawks in 1951. Henry was a member of Kalbes-Seewald American legion Post 280, Coleman; member of the Klondike Sportsman Club where he was President for a number of years; member of the 4-H Club and was a leader for few years; member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Klondike where he served on the first parish council and was one of the original lectors which he did for 15 years, was bread and cup minister and was an usher and served Mass for funerals. He was a member and Vice-President of the Cemetery Board for over 20 years and also a member of the Jitterbug Club of Long Lake, WI.

Surviving are his wife, May Weier, Pound; three sons, David (Diann) Weier of Milwaukee; Howard Weier of Pound; and Steve Weier of Franksville, WI; nine grandchildren, three stepgrandsons, and three great-grandchildren: two sisters, Louise Mirkes of Springhill, FL and Eleanore (Harry) Dunn of Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Laura Sandgren, Florence Weier, Sr. Amata (Rose) Ester Kloes; and three brothers, Martin, Raymond and Ed.

Friends called at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman from 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of services. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Hephner officiating. Interment in St. Wenceslaus Catholic cemetery, Klondike. Military rites were conducted at graveside.
