Hilma was born April 23, 1910 at Staunton, IL to the late Otto and Kitty Pearl (Sawyer) Jahnke. She married Edward L. Mayor December 24, 1931 at Abrams. He preceded her in death November 13, 1976.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara (Richard) Detaege, Oconto; a brother, Errol Jahnke, Abrams; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a son-in-law, Donald DeHut, Oconto; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Mayo, Oconto. Hilma was preceded in death by a son, David Mayo; a daughter, Jean DeHut; four brothers, Albert, Wilbur, Otto Jr. and Elmer; two sisters, Ruby Dessmann and a three month old infant sister, Leona Pearl.
Friends may call at the United Methodist Church, Oconto from 9 to ll a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2000. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church with Rev. Frederick Schulz officiating. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery. The Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto is assisting the family.
