Hugh Herald Herald (note: Middle name is printed wrong.-KB), 80, passed away peacefully on Jan. 3, 2002. Hugh was born in Oconto, Wis., on Sept. 7, 1921. He was the youngest child of Jim and Margaret Herald's nine children. Hugh grew up on the family farm where his catholic faith was nurtured and guided him throughout his life. In 1939, Hugh graduated from Oconto High School and later attended the Green BAy Business College. Hugh served his country bravely in World War II as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard.

Hugh married the former Jeanne Mullarkey in Clintonville, Wis., on July 4, 1953. He pursued a variety of occupations throughout his lifetime. His ever present sense of humor and wonderful storytelling skills were endearing to his family and friends. In 1988, Hugh's love of people and sports, especially golf and curling led him and Jeanne from their home in Milwaukee, Wis., to their retirement home in sunny Lady Lake Fla., where dreams of year round golf were realized.

Hugh is survived by his brother Jack (Alva) Herald, Oconto, Wis., his sister Marion Dickinson, Green Bay, Wis., sisters in law Priscilla Herald, Green Bay, Wis., Fern Herald, Wauwatosa, Wis., Isabelle Mullarkey, New London, Wis., Florence Mullarkey, Wauwatosa, Wis., brother in law Loy (Rosemary) Mullarkey, Bear Creek, Wis., many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Hugh's warm smile and caring attitude will be remembered always by family and friends. A Catholic Memorial Mass will be said for Hugh in Lady Lake, Fla., on Friday, Jan. 11.
