Falls Pioneer Died On Tuesday 

Oconto Falls – Funeral services for Hayes H. Caldwell, a pioneer resident of Oconto Falls will be held Thursday morning at St. Anthony's Catholic church at ten o'clock. The remains will be at the Soulek funeral home until the hour of the services.

Mr. Caldwell was born February 24th 1877 the son of David Caldwell, one of the pioneer families of Oconto Falls. He spent his entire life here and was the oldest living resident here. David Caldwell came to the Falls on the Oconto River about the same time as Wm. Volk family came.

Mr. Caldwell was married to the former Helen Kaufmann in January of 1902, who proceeded him in death in 1951. He served as Assessor of the city for a long time.

Survivors are three daughters, Margorie, Mrs. Halson Stewart of Jackson, Ohio; Ruby, Mrs. John Reed of Summerville, South Carolina and jean, Mrs. Kurt Berg of Chicago; two sons, David of Baltimore, Maryland and Curtis of Houston, Texas. Two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Hollis and Miss Helen Caldwell also proceeded their father.

Others who survive are two brothers, Arthur of Holyoke, Massachusetts, and Ward of San Diego.
