Helen D. Walker, 91, of Pound, died Sunday, December 31, 2000 at the Luther Home, Marinette.

Helen was born to the late August and Ida (Winkler) Giese May 20, 1909 in De Pere, Wisconsin. The former Helen Giese married Russell J. Walker November 17, 1923. The couple operated a dairy farm in the Town of Beaver until their retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband.

Surviving are nine daughters, Shirley Leavens, Cleveland; Phyllis Sheve, Sheboygan; Mrs. David (Bernice) Wardecke, Brown Deer; Mrs. Jim (Nancy) Kniskern, Mrs. Wally (Donna) Meyer and Barbara Mayer all of Pound; Delores Grandaw, and Carol Kroll both of Green Bay; Mrs. Gilbert (Darlene) Weddle, Crivitz; five sons, Clifford, Coleman; Mervin, Alan (Edith), Dale (Phyllis), and Darrel (Pat) all of Pound; 37 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Mildred Pillath of Pound. Helen was preceded in death by one son, William; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Albert, John, and Frank Giese, and two sisters, Hannah Stahl and Edna Giese.

Friends called at the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman, Wednesday January 3, 2001 from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment at First Baptist Cemetery, Pound.
