Hilda U. Genke Kuehl

Hilda U. Kuehl, 84, of Clintonville passed away Friday morning, September 14, 2001 at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville.

The former Hilda Ulricke Wilhelmine Genke was born May 10, 1917 in Bonduel to the late Richard and Helen (Zastrow) Genke. She was united in marriage on August 21, 1937 to Emil A. Kuehl at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bonduel. The couple farmed in the Breed, Bonduel and Clintonville areas. Her husband sold farm equipment for Jamesway, owned the Kuehl Cold Storage Plant, and had owned Kuehl Motors, all in Clintonville. Hilda was best known as a waitress at the midway Restaurant in Clintonville for 39 years, retiring in 1989. Her husband preceded her in death on August 5, 1998. She was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Clintonville where she was active in bible study and the ladies aide. Hilda enjoyed music, singing and flowers, She will be remembered most for her love of family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn (Jonathan) Klement of Northfield, OH; two grandchildren, Scott Klement of Cleveland, OH and Steven (Connie) Klement of Columbia, MD; three great-grandchildren, Shawn, Steven and Cristina; two sisters, Fern Buchholz of Bonduel and Evelyn Zernicke of Appleton; four brothers, Roland (Cecilia) Genke of Bonduel, Roy (Crystal) Genke of Hortonville, Dale Genke of Bonduel, and Marvin (Betty) Genke of Shawano. Further survived by many other relatives and friends. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Clarence (Ethel) Genke of Gillett; a sister-in-law, Edna Genke, and two brothers-in-law, Hubert Buchholz and Raymond Zernicke. Funeral services were held Monday, September 17 at 3 p.m. at St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Clintonville. Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiated. Burial was on Tuesday at Breed Union Free Cemetery, Town of Breed. Friends called on Sunday at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville.

The Beil-Didier Funeral Home, 299 S. Main St., Clintonville assisted the family.
