OCONTO - Town of Oconto Clerk Hugh G. " Duke" Couillard, 68, Routw 2, oconto, died unexpectedly Wednesday at home (June 10. 1981) .

He was born Aug. 12, 1912, in the Town of Abrams. He married the former Henrietta Young May 29, 1937, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church here.

Mr. Couillard operated a dairy in the Town of Oconto most of his life. In 1968, he left the farm and was employed by the Oconto Unified School District from 1969 until his retirement in 1877.

He had served as the town clerk since 1945, and was the chairman of the Oconto County Agricultural Stabilization & Conservation Service for several years.

He was serving his second term on the Oconto County Board of Supervisors and was a past president of the Couillardville Community Club.

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Kussow, Route 2, Little Swamico, and four grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Gallagher-Pinkhart Funeral Home after 3 p.m. today.

Funeral services will be held there Friday at 11 a.m.
