Harry F. PORADEK

Harry F. Poradek, 82, 427 Quincy St., Oconto Falls, died Wednesday evening, January 19, 2000, at a Green Bay hospital following a long illness.

He was born December 18, 1917, near Lee Lake to Emil and Delia (Pashek) Poradek. He grew up in the area and as a young man, served in the U.S. Army during World War 11. On May 1, 1943, while serving his country, he married Deloris Bitters in Oconto. Following his discharge from service in 1945, the couple moved to the city of Oconto Falls where Harry was employed at the local co-op and later Scott Paper Co. until his retirement in 1979. Harry was well known in the area for a mechanic who could fix just about anything for his sons and friends who raced go carts, stock cars and snowmobiles during the years.

Survivors are his wife, Deloris; two sons and daughters-in-law and their families, Gene and Patti Poradek and daughter, Sheri; Jim "J.R." and Diane Poradek and their son, Michael, all of Oconto Falls; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lulaine Henderson, Arlyn "Pokie" (Ione 'Dickie") Bitters, all of Oconto Falls; Violet (Jack) Fidler, Port Washington; Leatrice (Bill) Townsend, Sturgeon Bay.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant daughter, Judy; and one sister, Alice Poradek. Friends called at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls after 2 p.m. Saturday until the time of services. Funeral was 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Harold Beerntsen officiating. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Spruce.
