Impressive and touching rites for Mrs. C.W. Kilmer were conducted by the Rev. Victor Nearhoof at the Methodist Episcopal church on Sunday afternoon at two pm. Mrs. Kilmer passed away at the Wisconsin General hospital at Madison at six thirty pm on March 16, following an operation which had been performed the day previous. She had been in frail health for the past six years.

The beautiful floral tributes were in charge of Mmes. Wm. Wittmann, Wm. Kadlec, Louis Rusch and O.M. Saunders, officers of the Womans Benefit Association of which the deceased lady was a member and officer. During the services the church choir of Ladies voices sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and Mrs. Benson Schaub rendered a solo "Still, Still With Thee." In his remarks, Rev. Nearhoof brought out the characteristics of Mrs. Kilmers beautiful Christian Personality, and the strength and influence of such a life on the family, friend and community. Burial took place on the family lot in the Oconto Cemetery, Messrs. N. W. Peterson, George Cleveland, James Volk, A.J. Peterson, John Waldron and Charles Coopman carrying the casket.

Mrs. Kilmer was born Hattie F. Ellman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Ellman (now deceased) of Oconto on May 17, 1879. She was married to Clarence W. Kilmer at Menominee, Michigan on July 31, 1906, Mr. and Mrs. Kilmer have made their home here in Oconto Falls ever since their marriage.

Besides her husband she is survived by their three sons, Norbert, Francis and Victor, and also a sister, Miss Olga Ellman. There are also five nieces and two nephews, and a host of friends who mourn her departure.

Mrs. Kilmer was a devoted worker in the church of her choice holding responsible offices in the Ladies Aid and the Womans Foreign Missionary society. She will be especially missed in those groups and also in the W.B. Association.

The church on Sunday afternoon was filled to capacity in spite of the blizzard and this fact testifies to the high esteem accorded this splendid woman whom God has called to her eternal Home and Rest. For her we cannot grieve as she is relieved of her pain and suffering, but we mourn with the bereaved husband and sons in this great sorrow that has left them bereft of Mother.
