Harvey E Alsteen

Harvey E. Alsteen 79, Lena passed away peacefully at home Saturday June 22, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born to the late Arthur and Alice (Monnette) Alsteen at the family homestead on August 4, 1933. On August 17, 1957 Harvey married Marian Tracey at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Oconto Falls. He served in the United States Army. Harvey was an adventurous man and enjoyed many different activities including bowling, shooting pool, hunting, snowmobiling, casinos, winters in Florida, being at the farm for a crop check on the Gator and was an avid Packer Fan. He served on the Brookside Co-Op board for many years, belonged to the Lena Lions Club, sold seed corn for Northrup King and also sold Berg farm equipment for many years. Harvey farmed his entire life and enjoyed spending time with his family especially teasing his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 55 years Marian; three children Dave (Molly) Alsteen, Oconto Falls; Mike (Pam) Alsteen, Lena; Dan (Barb) Alsteen, Lena; ten grandchildren Tracy (Tad) Carriveau, Colby Mills, Courtney Mills, Carolyn Alsteen, Diana (Kyle) Sotka, Danielle Alsteen, Amy Kroll, Rachael (Scott) Seeling, Tony Kroll, Jimmy Kroll; 8 great-grandchildren; one sister Phyllis Meyer, Peshtigo; and one sister-in-law Norma Alsteen, Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by one daughter Carol Ann, one granddaughter Terra Zabel, one sister Audrey Orlando and one brother Donald Alsteen. Friends may call at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Lena from 9-11 AM Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Wednesday June 26, 2013 at the Church with Father Finian Zaucha officiating. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Lena with Military Rites performed by the Lena American Legion Post #342. Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena is assisting the family.
