Mrs. William Hammond, 79, pioneer resident of Oconto County, passed away at the family farm home on Monday December 17th, death being due to the frailities of advanced years. She was born Harriet Bennett on September 15, 1853 in Kewaunee county. Her marriage to William Hammond took place there, and the family moved to Oconto County in 1896, residing on the same homestead ever since. Mr. Hammond passed away seven years ago, and the survivors are two sons, Three daughters, and seventeen grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday at the home by the Rev. V.T. Nearhoof, burial taking place on the family lot in Woodlawn cemetery. Pall bearers were Messrs. Emil Lusier, Alphones Lemorande, John Lemorande, Fred Lhotte, L. LeFebre and Peter Courtion.
