She was born in the Town of Brazeau on July 16, 1907 to Ernest and Minnie Gurgens Tank. As a young girl she worked at Kelly Lake as a nanny and housekeeper. On June 24, 1925 she married John Pashek in Menominee, MI and they resided in the Town of Brazeau. Hilda worked along with her husband logging, planting trees, and various farm work until their retirement. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, canning and raising flowers. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Coleman.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lillian Hoyt and Joe DeKeyser, of Oconto Falls; two brothers Walter Tank of Sharpe Care, Oconto Falls and Edward Lorraine Tank of Lee Lake; two sisters-in-law, Dee Dee Elsie Tank of Anderson, IN and Dolores Pashek of Leopolis, WI; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, on January 16, 1978; a son-in-law, Bud Hoyt; three brothers Bernard, Rudolph and Louis Tank; half-brother, Earl Pashek; two sisters Lavina (Tank) Kunik and an infant son, and Esther and her husband, Jim Hanna, and a half-sister, Verna and Edward Janousky, all from the Klondike area.
Friends called at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Coleman from 1 p.m. Sunday until the time of services. Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the church with Rev. Gregory Stahlecker officiating. Interment will be in the Town of Brazeau Cemetery, Town of Brazeau. Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman assisted the family with arrangements.
