She was born September 11, 1905, in the Town of Gillett, to the late Herman and Mathilda (Quandt) Zahn.
On May 1, 1937, Gertrude married Victor Thomson at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Gillett, where she was also a member. She was a member of the church choir. She had been an employee of the former Gillett Canning Co., and the former Suring Farmers Mercantile Store. Gertrude is survived by her sister: Mathilda Zahn, Gillett; and her sister-in- law: Angeline Zahn, Clintonville.
Friends may call at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Gillett, Sunday, after 1:00 p.m. The funeral was held Sun., Feb. 7 at her church with the Rev. Ronald M. Andresen officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Bob Yakel, Ron Strehlow, Orin Ausloos, and Larry Kahler. Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett, assisted the family.
