She was born February 11, 1921 in Suring to the late Warren and Clara (Grunevald) Wilson. Gladys married Adolph Barke in 1940. He preceded her in death January 23, 1955. In 1959 she married Einer Johnsen; he preceded her in death March 9, 1973.
Survivors include her two daughters and their families; Sandra (Robert) Wanner of Oneida, Sally Ann (Daniel L.) Hansen of Suring; her son and his family, Michael (Garnet) Barke of Green Bay; one brother, Glenn Wilson of Oconto; one sister, Mary Ann Betty Wilson of Peoria, IL; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Gladys was further preceded in death by her son, Thomas Barke, in 1995, an infant son, Adolph, her three brothers, Benjamine, Ray, and Wallace.
Visitation will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring Wednesday, May 10, 2000 starting at 10 a.m. Funeral services Wednesday 12 noon with Pastor Kevin Kuhn officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Oconto, Wednesday 1:30 p.m
