Mrs. Guilis Surprise PARKER

Mrs. Guilis M. Parker, 89, of Pound, died Wednesday May 19, 1999 at Whispering Oaks Care Center, Peshtigo.

The daughter of the late Francis and Florence (Murphy) Surprise was born January 10, 1910 in Oconto. She married George Parker in Oconto and the couple owned and operated the Parker House in Oconto for many years and also owned the Oaks Supper Club in Green Bay for a number of years. She resided in Florida for 13 years. Her husband preceded her in death in 1989. She was a mamber of Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Klondike.

Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Jerome Eckes of Pound with whom she resided prior to going to the nursing home; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation was at Ss. Francis &Wenceslaus Church, Klondike from 9:30 a.m. until time of Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Monday May 24, 1999. Rev.John Hephner officiated with interment in Oconto Catholic Cemetery, Oconto. Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman assisted the family with arrangements.
