Word of the death of George Runkel, who at one time operated a jewelry store in the building now housing Chas. Coopman's Barber shop, reached here this week. Mr. Runkle was the brother of Mrs. R. P. Smith, and will be remembered by many of the older residents of Oconto falls.

Mr. Runkel now resided in Wausau, but we could not learn if burial took place there or at the Runkel home in Oconto. A more complete account will be published next week.
