Gary Ray Kempke, 45, of 9165 Holiday Inn Road, Suring died Thursday, November 12, 1998 at home. The son of Archie and Beverly (Colby) Kempke was born September 4, 1953 in Oconto County. He lived most of his life in Milwaukee where he was employed at Ward Kennedy Shoe Co., Western Leather, and Pharmacy Corporation of America. He was married to Donna Heimke on October 9, 1993 in Milwaukee. He moved to Suring in 1994.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Kempke; one son, Brandon at home; one step-daughter, Tara Heimke at home; his parents, Archie and Beverly Kempke of Pound; one brother, Dean Kempke of Pound, also nieces, nephews and other relatives,and friends.

Friends called Saturday, November 14, 1998 at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman. Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Crandall of Hickory Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the First Baptist Cemetery, Pound. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
